About Us

What is Ag in the Classroom (AITC)?
An educational program, sponsored by the North Carolina Farm Bureau, dedicated to fostering a better understanding of the importance of agriculture in North Carolina.
  Our Mission
Provide quality materials and instruction to public and private school teachers enabling them to instill in students an appreciation for our state's food and fiber production, the people involved with the various stages of that production, and the industry's statewide economic impact.
How do I teach students about ag?
Ag in the Classroom provides teachers with competency-based, grade level specific lesson plans which introduce information about agriculture to students as they are learning the required competencies at the various grade levels.
  What is the AITC Foundation?
The North Carolina Farm Bureau Foundation for Ag in the Classroom is a nonprofit organization that operates exclusively for educational and charitable purposes.  The Foundation provides financial support for the development of understanding and teaching of agriculture in the classroom through training programs and materials for teachers, educational programs for students, textbook review, and grants to individuals and organizations for agricultural educational purposes.
